Dear Friend in Jesus,

Through the years I have shared the following story with a number of friends who have been "having a bad day":

About five or six years ago I was visiting my mother and helping her with my dad who was in a nursing home. (Both of my parents are now in heaven with the Lord.) My mother suffered from a personality disorder, called Borderline Personality Disorder, which in turn, generated a great deal of anguish and suffering for her children and the entire family.

On this particular day, I was having an especially difficult time with my mother, and was "working" myself into quite a "personal pity party." I was walking through her living room, feeling quite sorry for myself, and wanting to "storm out", when the Lord gave me the wonderful image in my mind of the laughing Jesus. In my mind, soul and spirit, I could hear His laughter and joy. He told me I was taking my situation "way too seriously!" My emotions, soul, spirit and body were refreshed and I felt instantly better..filled with joy.

I was able to view my mother and the entire situation with "new" eyes and a renewed spirit. I cannot even tell you where I had seen this image of Jesus laughing....or even if I had ever seen a "literal" drawing of the laughing Jesus before, but since that day I have seen it (literally) several times, and am always reminded of that day in my mother's living room when life seemed very dark and desperate, and Jesus, as always, was ready to share His Joy and comfort.

Today, I was "cyberspace visiting" with my sister-in-law who is missing her beautiful daughter who passed away from cancer. I thought of the laughing Jesus, typed the words into the computer "search", and there I found your site!

Perhaps the image of our Lord's joy will send comfort to her as well.

God is good.....all the time.
